Professional Experience: Capt. Anand Chopra began his career in shipping in the year 1969 as a cadet. He sailed as Nautical Officer on various SCI ships, General Cargo Ships, Bulk Carriers and Tankers from 1974 in various capacities, becoming Captain in 1979. He joined SCI’s shore service in 1983.
In 2003, Capt. Anand Chopra was posted as Regional Manager to SCI’s London office. He became the first Indian National to hold the position of Chairman of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh-Ceylon Conference (IPBCC) – Europe Committee (Eastbound Management Committee).He was also Chairman of the India-Maritime Association in the U.K.
In December 2006, Capt. Anand Chopra successfully established SCI’s office in the USA. As the Regional Owners Representative for US operations, he was responsible for monitoring all strategy planning and SCI vessels and container operations to expand the business. In January 2008, Capt. Anand Chopra returned to Mumbai where he continued to head SCIs liner operations globally as Executive Director till 30th June 2012.
Duties & responsibilities: Capt. Anand Chopra is the advisor and oversees the NVOCC/ FF activities.
