Taking one step ahead in training, DDI recently incepted Advance Maritime Training Institute in Delhi to address the changing needs of competitive environment by timely up gradation of seafarer skills and talent. Doehle Danautic Training and Development division is headed by Capt. Tarasingh Hazari. Capt. T.D Hazari commenced his sea career after graduation from T.S. Dufferin in June 1964, and later joined The Shipping Corporation of India as a Deck Cadet, climbed up the ladder to master serving on various vessels. In July 1979, he joined the shore services of SCI and worked in Bulk Carrier & Tanker Division (twice), Technical Services Division, SCI Maritime Training Institute and ISM Cell.
He served as a Director in Technical & Offshore Services Division and as a Member of the Board of Directors of SCI. He superannuated in March 2006. He holds an Extra-Master Certificate of Competency from Board of Trade, U.K. and a Master of Science degree in Maritime Education and Training from World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. He is a Fellow of the Company of Master Mariners, life member of Institution of Marine Technologists.
